In my paintings I depict simple landscapes and simple objects.
These form the language I use to create an atmosphere that expresses my interpretation of the world as I experience it.
As the environment becomes progressively degraded and the speed of change accelerates I look for solace by creating scenarios They are populated by familiar or half real objects cast adrift by time and space but at the same time seemingly searching for answers.
I live and work in Wanaka, one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand with my partner artist Martin Hill with whom I also collaborate in creating land art.
I began painting in 2009 as a response to the world I see beyond my peaceful studio that looks out to mountains, lake, rivers and forest.
